The four-card 2+3 foundation
A four-card hand contains six distinct two-card pairs. A completed five-card board contains ten three-card selections, so the Pot Limit Omaha calculator checks 60 legal five-card candidates per player on each final board. It never sends all nine visible cards to a Hold’em-style best-five routine.
This construction explains two common surprises. One spade in the hand plus four spades on the board is not a flush because the final hand must take a second hole card. Likewise, a straight or royal flush lying entirely on the board cannot play by itself.
Exact postflop equity versus seeded sampling
With known hands on the river, comparison is direct. On a turn the engine visits every remaining river; on a flop it visits each unordered turn-river completion once. The result is exact for the supplied cards because no legal runout is sampled or duplicated.
Preflop and random-hand cases use Monte Carlo. The worker removes entered blockers, deals random players in stable order, completes the board from what remains, and evaluates the 60 legal candidates. Reusing the seed and iteration count reproduces the same 4 card Omaha equity estimate.
Reading equity, wins, and ties
Win percentage counts sole wins. Tie percentage counts boards with multiple equal best hands. Equity assigns a tied pot fractionally, so it can exceed sole-win frequency. For example, half of a two-way tie adds 0.5 to the player’s accumulated share rather than one whole win.
When at least a flop is entered, the result also shows the current best high category and highlights the precise two private and three board cards used. Unhighlighted hole cards remain live input cards; they simply are not part of that current best five.
Scope, privacy, and limitations
The PLO odds calculator processes cards locally in a cancellable same-origin worker. It needs no login or remote odds service, and an offline browser can keep calculating after page assets are available. Share URLs are created only on request.
The output models showdown equity under fixed rules. It does not infer betting ranges, position, fold equity, rake, future decisions, or room-specific procedures. Mathematical equity is not a guaranteed future result.

Why can’t I use three hole cards in PLO?
Four-card Omaha still requires exactly two hole cards. The other two are alternatives for different legal combinations.
Can I play the board in Pot Limit Omaha?
No. A final PLO hand always includes two private cards and three board cards.
Why does one spade in my hand not make a flush?
A flush needs five suited cards inside the legal 2+3 construction, which means two suited hole cards and three suited board cards.
Is preflop PLO equity exact or simulated?
This page uses seeded Monte Carlo preflop and labels it as simulation. Exact calculation is reserved for eligible fixed-hand postflop states.
Why can equity differ from win percentage?
Equity includes fractional shares from ties, while win percentage counts only outcomes with one sole winner.
