Every completed hand checks 60 legal two-hole plus three-board candidates.
A four-card hand contains six distinct two-card pairs. A completed five-card board contains ten three-card selections, so the Pot Limit Omaha calculator checks 60 legal five-card candidates per player on each final board. It never sends all nine visible cards to a Hold’em-style best-five routine.
This construction explains two common surprises. One spade in the hand plus four spades on the board is not a flush because the final hand must take a second hole card. Likewise, a straight or royal flush lying entirely on the board cannot play by itself.
With known hands on the river, comparison is direct. On a turn the engine visits every remaining river; on a flop it visits each unordered turn-river completion once. The result is exact for the supplied cards because no legal runout is sampled or duplicated.
Preflop and random-hand cases use Monte Carlo. The worker removes entered blockers, deals random players in stable order, completes the board from what remains, and evaluates the 60 legal candidates. Reusing the seed and iteration count reproduces the same 4 card Omaha equity estimate.
Win percentage counts sole wins. Tie percentage counts boards with multiple equal best hands. Equity assigns a tied pot fractionally, so it can exceed sole-win frequency. For example, half of a two-way tie adds 0.5 to the player’s accumulated share rather than one whole win.
When at least a flop is entered, the result also shows the current best high category and highlights the precise two private and three board cards used. Unhighlighted hole cards remain live input cards; they simply are not part of that current best five.
