Pot Odds Calculator

Price a call without mixing pot stages. The pot odds calculator adds the opponent’s bet to the prior pot, then compares your call with the completed pot to report reward-to-risk, break-even equity, and optional capped rake.

Price a call from the final pot

Pot before bet, opponent bet and your call are separate; optional rake is taken from the final pot.

How the result is built

The Call Price Must Be Compared with the Final Pot

This site's input model starts with the pot before the opponent bets. The opponent's bet and your call each enter the final pot exactly once.

  • Pot before bet 100
  • Opponent bet 50
  • Your call 50

finalPotAfterCall = potBeforeBet + opponentBet + callAmount
requiredEquity = callAmount / finalPotAfterCall

Teaching example without rake. Required equity is the call amount divided by the final pot after calling.

Three inputs prevent denominator mistakes

Pot before bet, opponent bet, and your call are separate values. The final pot includes all three; required equity is your call divided by that final pot.

Ratio and percentage say the same thing

A 3:1 reward-to-risk ratio means one unit is risked to contest three already available units. Its break-even equity is 25%, before modeling future action.

Rake changes the contestable pot

When enabled, percentage rake is capped and removed from the final pot. This raises the equity needed to call, but the tool does not guess a room’s policy.

Worked examples

Half-pot bet

A 50 bet into 100 creates 150 before your 50 call and a 200 final pot, requiring 25% raw equity.

Unequal call amount

If prior street contributions make the remaining call smaller than the displayed bet, enter the actual amount still required.

Frequently asked questions

Should I enter the pot before or after the bet?

Enter the pot before the opponent’s current bet in the first field.

Does the final pot include my call?

Yes. Required equity uses the pot after a successful call.

Are pot odds the same as EV?

No. Pot odds give a break-even price; EV also needs your equity and may include other branches.

How is a rake cap used?

Rake is the smaller of final pot times the rate and the entered cap.
